Chiang Mai is renowned for its temples. city. Altogether there are 373 temples within the city district. Some of the original temples have existed independently to this day, while others have linked up to form major complexes.

The new style Khantoke Dinner was introduced in 1953 by Kraisri Nimmanhaemindra who adapted the traditional dinner to welcome distinguished guests to the city. Since that time it has become popular among the local people, people of other regions and even foreigners.

If you plan to visit the many tourist attractions scattered along both sides of the lushly forested Mae Rim-Samoeng Road you should not miss the opportunity to drop in and admire the beautiful natural surroundings of the Botanical Gardens, established in 1991 for the collection and study of native and rare plant species.
